Maverick - Allen TX Senior Photographer - Fabrication Yard, Dallas TX
If you've been following along with the 2026 MHP Senior Model Team, you already know Maverick. But this session? This was all him — his style, his vision, his personality on full display. And honestly, it might be one of my favorite sessions of the entire year.
When a senior knows exactly who he is
One of the most exciting things about senior portraits is when a senior comes in with a clear sense of self. Maverick is exactly that person. He wears streetwear, he leans into an edgy, urban aesthetic, and he had a location in mind from the start — The Fabrication Yard in Dallas. And he was absolutely right. The graffiti walls, raw industrial textures, and gritty outdoor spaces were the perfect backdrop for his style. Everything just clicked.
After doing multiple shoots together as part of the 2026 Senior Model Team, Maverick and I already had a great working relationship. There's a comfort level that builds over time, and it shows in the photos. He knew how to move, how to own a frame, and how to bring his personality into every single shot. I barely had to direct him — he just delivered.
The Fabrication Yard — a hidden gem for urban senior sessions
If you're a senior who doesn't connect with the traditional park or garden session, The Fabrication Yard in Dallas is worth putting on your radar. The location has incredible visual variety — bold murals, weathered brick, open concrete spaces — all of which photograph beautifully and give your gallery a completely unique look. For a senior like Maverick, it was a natural fit, and I'm already thinking about future clients I'd love to bring here.
A special ending — college announcement at Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge
Maverick's parents joined us for the session, and at the end of the shoot we made a quick drive over to the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge for something really special — his college announcement photos. The iconic bridge gave us a dramatic, celebratory backdrop that was a completely different vibe from The Fabrication Yard, and the contrast made both sets of images even stronger.
Maverick is headed to Texas A&M University — following in his dad's footsteps as an Aggie. I don't know if I have words for how sweet that is. Gig 'em, Maverick! These announcement shots are going to be so treasured by his whole family, and I was beyond honored to be there to capture that moment.
