Some sessions stop you in your tracks when you're editing, and Mackenzie's was one of them. Between the rustic charm of the Fort Worth Stockyards and the unexpected elegance of her ballet point shoes, this gallery turned out absolutely breathtaking. I am so proud of these images.
Mackenzie — a 2026 MHP Senior Model Team member
If you've been following the blog, you may recognize Mackenzie from the 2026 MHP Senior Model Team. Working with her over the course of her senior year has been such a pleasure. She is one of those girls who is effortlessly beautiful in front of the camera — natural, warm, and completely at ease. By the time we got to her individual session, we had a great rhythm together, and it shows in every frame.
Why the Fort Worth Stockyards was the perfect choice
Mackenzie came to this session with a clear vision — rustic, warm, and full of Texas character — and the Fort Worth Stockyards delivered on every front. The worn wooden storefronts, brick streets, weathered textures, and wide open skies gave us so much to work with. It's a location that feels timeless, and for a senior portrait session, that's exactly what you want. These photos will look just as stunning hanging on a wall twenty years from now as they do today.
The Stockyards also gave us incredible variety within a single location — from shaded alleyways to sun-drenched open streets — so the gallery has a wonderful range of light and mood throughout. If you're a senior who loves a classic Texas aesthetic, this location absolutely belongs on your list.
The ballet photos — my favorite surprise
Here's the thing about incorporating a passion into your senior portraits — it transforms the entire session. Mackenzie brought her ballet point shoes, and those photos are simply stunning. There is something so striking about the juxtaposition of delicate ballet shoes against the rugged, rustic backdrop of the Stockyards. It shouldn't work — and yet it is absolutely magical.
This is exactly why I always encourage seniors to bring something that represents who they are. A sport, an instrument, a pair of shoes — whatever it is, it adds a layer of authenticity to your portraits that you simply can't manufacture. Mackenzie has clearly dedicated years to ballet, and honoring that in her senior session made these images deeply personal and truly one of a kind.
Senior Model Team — join the 2027 team
Mackenzie's session is a beautiful example of what happens when a senior joins the MHP Senior Model Team. Over the course of your senior year, we work together on multiple sessions, building a gallery that truly tells your story. Your individual session becomes the highlight — a chance to pick a location that speaks to you and bring your full personality to the shoot.
Applications for the 2027 Senior Model Team will be opening soon! If you're a rising senior in the Allen, McKinney, Plano, Fort Worth, or Dallas area, I'd love for you to be a part of it.
