Kate - Crape Myrtle Trail - McKinney, TX Photographer
There’s something truly special about discovering a new location—especially when you're doing it alongside someone you love. While scouting a new summer-only spot in McKinney, I brought along my 12-year-old daughter to help me test the light and explore the space. As soon as she stepped into the rows of blooming crape myrtles, she smiled and said, “It feels like a fairy garden.” And honestly, she couldn’t have described it more perfectly.
This new location bursts to life in the summer, with vibrant pinks, soft whites, and sunlit greens creating a dreamy, storybook backdrop. It’s a short seasonal window, but when the crape myrtles bloom, the entire space transforms into something magical.
Watching her dance and twirl barefoot through the flowers reminded me why I love what I do. These are the moments we want to freeze—the fleeting joys of childhood, the golden light of summer, the feeling of wonder that only nature can bring.
This spot is perfect for capturing those warm, golden-hour portraits—whether it's for kids, families, or seniors who want something fresh and whimsical. I’ll be offering a limited number of sessions here this summer while the blooms are at their best.
