The C Family - Allen, TX Family Photographer
Sometimes the best photos come from the most unexpected moments. Just before this sweet family’s session, the weather decided to take a turn and the rain started coming down. Normally, that’s my cue to reschedule—but this family was all in and wanted to see if we could make it work. And I’m so glad we did.
We tucked ourselves under the trees to stay as dry as possible, and from the very first click, Mom and Dad were total naturals—laughing, playing, and fully engaging with their two little ones (ages one and four). The kids didn’t mind the drizzle one bit. In fact, they thought it was part of the fun!
Even though the cloudy skies made the light dimmer than I usually prefer, it pushed me to get creative, work quickly, and go with the flow. I’ll admit, I was a little nervous about how the photos might turn out with the low light—but when I started editing, I couldn’t believe how beautifully they came together. The images feel cozy, natural, and full of love.
While I don’t plan to make rainy sessions a regular thing, this one was a perfect reminder that flexibility and connection matter far more than perfect weather. When families show up ready to laugh, snuggle, and enjoy each other—rain or shine—magic always follows.
