Prosper TX Engagement Photos | A Vintage Truck, Sunset & Lots of Love

Some engagement sessions just have a little something extra. This one had a vintage turquoise truck, two flowy dresses, cowboy boots, a gorgeous September sunset, and a couple who made photographing their connection incredibly easy.

These two are from Frisco and wanted their engagement photos to feel a little different. They loved the look of a vintage truck, so I set out to find one that would work for their session. A post in a local photography Facebook group led me to Stephanie Kingston, a local senior photographer who rents out her vintage truck at the Prosper Silos in Downtown Prosper.

It ended up being the perfect addition.

A Vintage Truck at the Prosper Silos

I love when a couple brings an idea to me that isn't just the standard engagement session.

The vintage truck gave us something fun to incorporate into their photos while also giving the session that relaxed, slightly vintage feel they were going for. And the turquoise color? It was perfect with their outfits.

They showed up in beautiful, flowy dresses paired with boots, and the whole look came together so well against the truck and the open landscape around the Prosper Silos.

We started with some photos around the truck, including some of my favorites inside the cab. There's something about putting two people in a small space together that makes it much easier to capture those quiet, intimate moments.

And these two had no shortage of them.

The Kind of Connection You Can't Pose

One of my favorite things about engagement photography is getting past the point where a couple is thinking about the camera.

These two got there quickly.

They were constantly smiling at each other, laughing together, and naturally reaching for one another. I could give them a prompt and instead of worrying about whether they were doing it “right,” they just went with it.

They were also incredibly encouraging of each other throughout the session. If I asked one of them to try something new or move into a different pose, the other was right there cheering her on.

That kind of comfort makes such a difference.

It allowed me to capture a lot of the in-between moments—the looks, the laughs, the little touches, and the moments where they were completely focused on each other instead of the camera.

Those are often the images that end up being my favorites.

Sunset Made the September Heat Worth It

And then there was the sunset.

September in North Texas is still hot, and this evening was no exception. But as the sun started getting lower, the heat became a little easier to forget.

The sky lit up behind them and gave us the most beautiful golden light.

We took advantage of every bit of it, moving around the truck and the surrounding area and letting the changing light become part of the session. The combination of the warm sunset, the turquoise truck, their dresses, and the open landscape made for some seriously beautiful images.

Engagement Photos That Feel Like You

This is exactly why I love planning engagement sessions around the couple rather than trying to make every session look the same.

If you want classic portraits, we'll get those.

If you want to bring a vintage truck, wear boots and flowy dresses, and spend your evening laughing together while the sun sets over Prosper, we can do that too.

Your engagement photos should reflect the two of you—not just what you've seen other couples do.

I'll give you prompts and direction throughout the session so you never have to wonder what to do with your hands or where to stand. But I'm also looking for the moments that happen naturally in between.

That's where the good stuff usually happens.

If you're planning an engagement session in Prosper, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, or anywhere around North Texas, I'd love to help you create something that's personal to you.
