One of the things I love most about photography is the relationships that often come with it. Sometimes a photo session is more than just a milestone—it becomes a reminder of friendships, memories, and how quickly time passes.
This recent college announcement session was especially meaningful because the senior's mom and I go way back. Years ago, we taught preschool together, and now here we are celebrating her daughter's high school graduation and exciting plans for the future. It's moments like these that make my job so rewarding.
Celebrating a Big College Decision
This Allen High School senior is preparing for an exciting new chapter as she heads to the University of Texas at San Antonio this fall.
College announcement sessions are some of my favorite shoots because they capture that unique season between high school and whatever comes next. There's so much excitement, anticipation, and possibility wrapped up in these moments.
For this session, we wanted to create images that celebrated both her accomplishments and her future plans. Why Oak Point Nature Preserve Is One of My Favorite Locations
We chose Oak Point Nature Preserve in Plano for this session, and it could not have been more perfect.
The preserve offers beautiful natural scenery, walking trails, open spaces, and seasonal flowers that create a gorgeous backdrop for senior portraits. During this session, the flowers were blooming beautifully, adding soft colors and a natural feel to the images.
One of the reasons I love photographing seniors at Oak Point is that the location provides a timeless look that never goes out of style. Nature allows the focus to remain on the senior while still adding depth, texture, and beauty to every image.
