Plano TX Senior Photographer - Oak Point Senior Session
When a family comes back to you for a second child's senior portraits, it means the world. It tells you that the first experience mattered — that the photos lived on the wall, got pulled up on phones at family dinners, and became part of how that family tells their story. So when this sweet senior's mom reached out to book her session, knowing I had already photographed her older sister's graduation portraits a couple of years ago, I was genuinely thrilled. Some families just become your families, and this is one of them.
Senior Portraits at Oak Point Nature Preserve
For her session, this senior chose Oak Point Nature Preserve — and honestly, it was a perfect pick. Oak Point is one of those locations that photographs beautifully in every season, but in April? It is in a league of its own. The trails wind through open meadows and wooded areas that give you incredible variety within a single session, and the light filters through in a way that feels effortless and dreamy without any extra effort.
If you haven't considered Oak Point for your senior session, put it on your list. It has everything — open sky, shade, texture, and a natural softness that makes for timeless portraits.
The Buttercup Fields Were Everything
Here's the thing about April at Oak Point — timing is everything, and we absolutely nailed it. The buttercup fields were in full bloom, and I don't use that phrase lightly. We're talking a sweeping, golden carpet of wildflowers stretching as far as the eye could see. It was the kind of scene that stops you in your tracks the moment you walk up to it.
This senior walked right into that field like she was born for it. The soft yellow blooms against her outfit, the warmth of the April light, the slight breeze that kept everything feeling alive — it all came together in a way that felt completely unplanned and completely perfect at the same time. These are the sessions that remind me why I love shooting in natural settings and why spring in North Texas is so wildly underrated.
A Family That Keeps Coming Back
Photographing siblings is one of my favorite things. You already know the family's energy, their taste, and what matters most to them. And watching a younger sibling step into this milestone — the one you watched their older sister step into not long ago — is genuinely moving. This senior had her own personality, her own style, and her own vision for her session, and it was a joy to bring that to life for her.
To this family: thank you for trusting me again. Watching your girls grow up through my lens is a gift I don't take lightly.
