Summer Blooms and Senior Photos at One of McKinney's Most Beautiful Locations
The Class of 2027 Senior Team recently gathered for our first group shoot of the year, and we couldn't have picked a more beautiful location. We met at Crape Myrtle Trail in McKinney, one of my absolute favorite places for summer senior portraits.
Right now, the crape myrtles are in full bloom, creating a colorful backdrop that feels straight out of a storybook. Shades of pink, purple, white, and red line the trail, making every direction a beautiful place to photograph.
The girls arrived ready to have fun, and it was obvious how quickly they had bonded since our Intro Shoot. What started as a group of strangers is already becoming a close-knit team. There was plenty of laughter, encouragement, and excitement as we explored the trail and created some stunning images together.
A Surprise Visit from Some Tiny Guests
One of the highlights of the evening happened when a few baby bunnies appeared near the trail. They seemed just as curious about our photoshoot as we were excited to see them! The girls loved watching them hop around the flowers, and it added an extra bit of magic to an already perfect summer evening.
Moments like these are one of the reasons I love outdoor photography. You never know what surprises nature has in store.
Why Crape Myrtle Trail is Perfect for Summer Senior Pictures
Many people think they need to wait until fall for senior photos, but summer is actually one of the best times to schedule your session.
At Crape Myrtle Trail, the vibrant blooms create a colorful, natural backdrop that is only available for a short window each year. Combined with longer evenings, lush greenery, and beautiful golden light, it becomes one of the most unique senior photo locations in North Texas.
Every year, this location quickly becomes one of my most requested summer spots, and it's easy to see why.
Book Your Summer Senior Session
If you're a Class of 2027 senior looking for bright, colorful portraits that stand out from the crowd, now is the perfect time to book your summer senior session at Crape Myrtle Trail in McKinney.
The blooms only last for a limited time, making this one of the most sought-after locations of the season. Whether you're looking for natural, candid images or a mix of fun and editorial-style portraits, this location provides a gorgeous backdrop for celebrating your senior year.
