Prom night has a magic to it that is all its own — the dresses, the hair, the excitement buzzing in the air before a big evening. For the Mary Hickman Photography senior model team, we weren't about to let that magic go undocumented. Before Allen High School's prom got started, we made a quick stop at Legacy West in Plano — and the results were absolutely stunning.


Legacy West — The Perfect Backdrop for a Sparkly Night

Legacy West is one of those locations that just delivers. The architecture, the storefronts, the clean upscale aesthetic — it all comes together in a way that feels elevated and editorial without trying too hard. For a pre-prom shoot, it was an ideal fit. The girls looked absolutely beautiful in their dresses, and Legacy West matched their energy perfectly.

The Gucci and Tiffany storefronts turned out to be the standout backdrops of the evening. The shimmer and texture of those iconic storefronts played perfectly off the shiny, sparkly fabrics of the dresses — catching the light in all the right ways and giving every frame that extra layer of glamour. It was one of those happy pairings where the location and the subject just click, and the camera knows it.


Senior Girls, Prom Dresses, and a Little Pre-Dance Magic

There is an energy that these girls brought to this shoot that was completely electric. They were dressed to the nines, feeling themselves, and ready for a big night — and that joy and confidence translated directly into the portraits. Photographing seniors in this kind of moment is such a privilege. They are right in the middle of one of the most exciting nights of their high school years, and getting to freeze that for them — the dresses, the smiles, the friendships — is something they will look back on for a long time.

The shoot was quick by design. Prom was waiting, after all. But some of the best sessions are the ones with a little time pressure — everyone is focused, the energy is high, and you make every frame count.


The Senior Model Team Experience

Being part of the Mary Hickman Photography senior model team means moments like this one — unexpected, glamorous, and completely one of a kind. These girls have been incredible to work with all year, and a pre-prom shoot at Legacy West felt like exactly the kind of send-off this season deserved.
