Garrett Family - Richardson TX Mini Sessions
Photographing families with older kids is a beautiful balance of patience and connection—especially when the location is busier than expected. This session, also held in the wildflower fields of Richardson, TX, came with its own set of challenges and rewards.
The day started much like earlier sessions: the wildflowers hadn’t bloomed the way we hoped, and the park was still buzzing with other photographers and families. With a family of five, including older kids who weren’t exactly thrilled to be in front of the camera, we had to ease into it. My goal was simple—create space for real connection and let the smiles come naturally.
And they did.
By the time we hit our stride, the crowd had begun to thin out. The pressure lifted, the laughter loosened, and we got some truly meaningful moments. You could see the shift in energy—subtle jokes between siblings, a soft smile from mom, and that relaxed sense of togetherness that only comes when everyone can finally just breathe.
The light was soft, the vibe was easy, and this session became a reminder that good photos don’t come from forcing smiles—they come from allowing space for authenticity.
