Ian - Class of 2026 - Allen, TX Senior Photographer
Every once in a while, a senior session unfolds in a way that feels effortless and unforgettable—and this shoot at Rockledge Park was exactly that. With Lake Grapevine glowing behind us and the sun setting just right, we had the perfect backdrop to capture a senior who’s not only talented, but genuinely one of the most humble and easygoing people to work with.
He selected Rockledge Park for the variety of backgrounds, and he couldn’t have picked a better location. From rocky cliffs to wide-open water to glowing sunset light, every spot added something different to his story. And speaking of story—he brought along some incredible pieces of who he is: his trombone, euphonium, his Jeep, and his letterman jacket. Each one was a chapter in the journey he’s worked so hard for.
What I loved most about this session is how quickly he settled in. In his questionnaire, he mentioned that he feels a little awkward in front of the camera, but the second we started shooting, that changed fast. We joked around, talked music, talked future plans—and before either of us realized it, he was totally at ease. Laughing. Confident. Following direction like he’d modeled before. And absolutely owning every shot.
He’s an incredible horn player with plans to pursue music education in college, and getting to photograph him with the instruments that shaped his high school years felt so special. One of my favorite moments was when he stepped right into the water—freezing cold—and didn’t hesitate for a second.
Anything for the shot, and it paid off.
By the time the sun dipped behind the horizon, we had so many images that truly captured his personality, his talent, and this exciting moment in his life.
And the best part? We’re doing it all again in the spring for his college decision announcement, and I cannot wait.
